Poslední dobou se mě lidé ptají, co říkám na výkon Johanna Nordblad a její světový rekord. Podobné diskuze se vedou u nás i ve Finsku. Tak bych se rád k celé věci oficiálně vyjádřil.

Nejprve fakta:

Plaval jsem pod ledem 80,99 metrů v plavkách bez čepice a závaží. V tento den je tento výkon uznán asociací Pure Apnea jako světový rekord a na vyjádření Guinnesse čekáme (mají až 12 týdnů na vyjádření).

Johanna Nordblad plavala pod ledem 103 metrů v plavkách a s čepicí a závažím. Tímto vytvořila světový rekord pod asociací CMAS. Johanna uplavala nejdelší vzdálenost, kterou kdo uplaval pod ledem na nádech a bez neoprenu. Uplavala tak o 22 metrů více než já.

Objektivně tyto dva výkony nelze porovnávat, ve smyslu, který je výkonostně hodnotnější. Můžeme o tom samozřejmě vést debatu a každý si může udělat svůj vlastní závěr.

Osobně se pak domnívám, že kdyby Johanna zvolila pravidla Guinnesse a plavala bez závaží, tak by bezpečně uplavala více něž 81 metrů.

Rekordy jsou zde i proto, aby se je někdo pokusil překonat. Právě to je to, co nás žene vpřed.

Upřímně říkám, že kdyby mě Johanna přeplavala v Guinnesse pravidlech, tak by na vteřinu utrpělo mé ego a mrzelo by mě to. Ale jen na vteřinu – ve skutečnosti je to přeci jedno ne? Ego, zvláště do této sportovní disciplíny nepatří.

Johanna je pro mě vzor a inspirace, sleduju ji už několik let a doufám, že budu mít možnost se s ní brzo setkat osobně, abychom si povídali o společné vášni.

Johanna uplavala pod ledem na nádech bez neoprenu víc než kdokoli jiný před ní. Já ji gratuluji a jsem rád, že drží světový rekord – že to CMAS stihnul. Je dobře, že se pravidla konečně sjednotí a příště bude méně prostoru ke spekulacím a otázkám.

A jak říká Johanna – pokud máte i nadále nejasnosti, možná bude nejlepší, když se sami ponoříte do díry v ledu … myslím, že zůstanete ticho

Nyní je čas oslavovat ledovou královnu.

Lately, people have been asking me what I’m saying about Johanna Nordblad ‚s performance and her world record. Similar discussions are taking place in our country and in Finland. So I would like to comment officially on the whole matter.

First of all, the facts:

I swam under the ice 80.99 meters in a swimsuit without a hat and weights. On this day, this performance is recognized by the Pure Apnea Association as an official world record (category: man and Pure Apnea rules) and we are waiting for the statement of Guinness (they have up to 12 weeks to comment).

Johanna Nordblad swam under the ice 103 meters in a bathing suit and a cap and weight. This created a world record under the CMAS association (category: woman and CMAS rules). Johanna swam the longest distance anyone could swim under the ice for one breath and without wetsuit. She swam 22 meters more than me.

Objectively, these two performances cannot be compared, in the sense which one is more valuable in the terms of performance. We can, of course, have a debate about this, and everyone can draw their own conclusion.

Personally, I think that if Johanna chose the rules of Guinness and swam without weights, she would safely swim more than 81 meters.

That´s what records are for, so someone can try to break them.

This is what drives us forward. I honestly think that if Johanna swam over me in the Guinness Rules, my ego would suffer for a second and I would be sorry. But only for a second – it doesn’t really matter, does it? The ego doesn´t belong to this sport. Johanna is a role model and inspiration for me, I have been following her for several years and I hope that I will have the opportunity to meet her in person soon to talk about our common passion.

Johanna swam under the ice for one breath and without neoprene more than anyone else before her. I congratulate her and I’m glad that she holds the world record – that CMAS did it. It is good that the rules will finally be unified and there will be less room for speculation and questions next time.

And as Johanna says – if you still hae doubts, maybe it would be best if you immerse yourself in a hole in the ice … I think you will remain silent then
